It is a deeply fulfilling privilege for me to help someone move from a point of uncertainty, chaos or crisis to a feeling of confidence and empowerment to move forward; to make sense of what is going on for them and to feel able to take their next step - intentionally, mindfully and authentically.

I am an Executive Coach with a passion and focus on helping people to be and perform at their best and to lead with confidence, resilience and authenticity.

With a clinical background and over 10 years Board and senior leadership experience, I bring knowledge, experience and insight from an extensive and varied career in healthcare and the UK charity sector. I am person-centred and values-driven.

I have extensive insight into organisational culture and the power that effective leadership has to shape and influence personal and organisational success.

Through one to one coaching my clients have time for structured thinking so they can be and perform at their best, and lead with confidence, resilience and authenticity.

Teams, businesses and organisations are the product of the relationships between the individuals within them. I therefore focus on helping my clients develop and maintain effective relationships in order to achieve their goals and optimise personal and organisational growth and change.

My purpose and motivation

My passion for and approach to coaching has developed and deepened throughout my career but has undoubtedly been powerfully informed by some key experiences. One of these was my early mental health role in South Africa in the early post-apartheid era. Here I had the privilege of supporting people from all personal, political and social perspectives to navigate and find their roles within a dramatically changed environment. I witnessed the power of owning our own stories to help us make sense of the world around us and our role within it, and to empower us to make thoughtful choices about how we want to move forward and who we want to be in the world around us.

Another key period that deepened my resolve and informed my coaching practise was in my role as a cancer clinical nurse specialist. Here again I had the privilege of helping people to move from moments of disbelief, chaos and crisis to feeling informed, more in control and able to move forward, even if it was just having clarity about the next step they needed or wanted to take. That one step helps us get ‘unstuck’, it leads to another step and helps us move forward.

Coaching is a proactive, structured approach to helping us move mindfully, purposefully and authentically through the positive and negative challenges of life - personally and professionally. Executive coaching is an extension of this where the focus is on our work lives and professional roles, but which of course cannot be entirely divorced from our personal lives and development because it is ourselves that we bring to our professional roles. Whether we invest in developing ourselves for professional or personal reasons, benefit to both is inevitable.

I have benefitted both personally and professionally from coaching. It has helped me achieve career and business successes, but more importantly, it has enabled me to be more intentional about the leader I want to be and how I choose to ‘show up’ and invest in developing effective relationships and culture in the workplace. I have applied these principles to my own practise and as I have mentored, coached and managed people over my career, it is always a joy and privilege to see them grow and find their confidence to achieve their goals and to lead with purpose and authenticity. This continues to be my motivation and purpose for coaching and leadership development.

  • My career began in nursing, working in Intensive Care and High Dependency before moving into Mental Health nursing and then, within the NHS, back into general nursing. Here, I had the joy and privilege of becoming a Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist which gradually took me into the charity sector – first as a Senior Specialist Nurse and then into management and senior executive leadership and Board-level experience.

My move into Executive Coaching brings me full circle to supporting people on an individual level – my deepest and most fulfilling passion and privilege.
